Canadian County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Memorial Dedication

5/16/2023 - Canadian County Sheriff Chris West announced today that on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office will have a dedication service for the placement of a law enforcement memorial to commemorate the four Canadian County sheriff’s deputies who have lost their lives safeguarding the citizens of Canadian County. The memorial will be placed on the east side of the courthouse, south of the main entrance this week and ready for the service on Monday.  The dedication service will include a history of the four deputies whose names are displayed on the memorial, a proclamation by County Commissioner David Anderson, and remarks by District Attorney Mike Fields.

4/06/2023 - On Monday, April 3, 2023, a deputy sheriff with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation along Interstate 40 Eastbound near Radio Road, in Canadian County. The driver was stopped after the deputy observed an improper lane change. During the stop thirty pounds of Methamphetamine and approximately $6,500.00 in cash were siezed. Yunita Cedeno, a 52-year-old black female from Tennessee, and Sharon Hodge, a 47-year-old black female from Tennessee, were both taken into custody and jailed on violation relating to methamphetamine trafficking.

4/04/2023 - Four deputies with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office were recognized for the efforts in Traffic Enforcement, Occupant Protection Enforcement & Impaired Driving Enforcement this past week. Each Deputy received a “Top Cop Award” recognition at an awards ceremony that took place at the Tulsa Technology Center in Owasso, Oklahoma last Thursday as part of the 30th annual Buckle Down Awards. The Buckle Down Awards recognize law enforcement officers from across the state who demonstrate excellence in traffic safety enforcement.

Traffic Stop Nabs Seizure of 13.5 lbs of Fentanyl Pills

8/17/2022 - On Monday, August 15th at approximately 8:57 pm a Deputy with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office stopped an eastbound 2019 Toyota Camry on Interstate 40 near Evans Road in Canadian County. The subject was stopped after the deputy observed the vehicle make an improper lane change while traveling almost 20 miles per hour below the posted speed limit. Concerned the driver might be intoxicated, the Deputy made the traffic stop. (continued)


Two More Child Predators Arrested

8/04/2022 - On Friday, July 29, Canadian County Sheriff’s Office arrested two predators meeting to pick up a fifteen-year-old for sex. This undercover operation led to the arrest of Stefan Rice, a 52-year-old male from Yukon, and Nathan Baldwin, a 27-year-old male from Edmond. Rice and Baldwin contacted an undercover decoy portraying a fifteen-year-old female from Piedmont, Oklahoma. (Continued)
