Deputy Sheriff - Juvenile

The day-to-day assignments handled by a Sheriff’s Deputy, Assigned to Juvenile Investigations, vary. The general / typical schedule of a Deputy assigned to this division will work Monday thru Friday, normal business type hours, with holidays and weekends off unless needed for other assignments. Deputies will need to be flexible at times and have a team mentality. A Deputy assigned to this Division will need to have the ability to communicate clearly with children as well as parents. Even though the main function, and majority, of their work comes from working closely with Parents, Teachers, and Administrators within their assigned school district on a multitude of issues, they will also work with other Law Enforcement Agency and State Agencies, such as DHS and OJA. Deputies assigned to this division will be exposed to things such as mentoring, helping guide younger children, enforcing criminal statutes, such as truancy / neglect / drugs etc. to name a few.
