The Canadian County Sheriff’s Office has been holding a quantity of jewelry as found property for several years. It is believed this property was taken in a burglary or several burglaries. 10/15/2020 - Fraudulent Social Security Calls - Canadian County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigation Unit received a complaint today from a victim that they had received a phone call from 281-769-2926 claiming they were from Social Security and that their Social Security number had been violated and blocked. Investigators ran a check on the number and found that it was from call center located in Texas. Investigators followed up on the number and found this is fraudulent call center and they have no connection with Social Security. In the follow up investigation background information indicated there was a number of suspects placing calls from this call center. If you get a call from this number do not answer, block the number, and disregard any messages from them. No Federal Agency (IRS-Social Security) will call you unsolicited
